How do I add things to my sidebar?
April 8th, 2006
All theme now come enabled for Sidebar Widgets, which is a snazzy term for the boxes of information on your sidebar.
Go to Presentations-> Sidebar Widgets.
On the left, you will see a list of available Widgets for your sidebar. If you drag items over to the right box, this will override the original theme’s sidebar arrangement and replace it with the information you just put there.
To add custom content, like a code snippet, ad block, webring or site counter, you have to paste the code into the Widget called “Text Widget”.

On the Text Widget bar is a little icon with lines, on the right. Click it, and a small window will pop up where you can add a title to the block and paste in whatever code you like.
Click the X. Don’t worry, your info is still there.
Once your sidebar is arranged how you like, click the SAVE CHANGES button. It is down a little bit on the right. View your site to see how it looks.
If you need more than one Text Widget, it’s easy! Scroll down on the Sidebar Widgets page, and right near the bottom it asks you how many you would like, and you can pick up to 9 from the drop-down box. You can add more than one code snippet to a box if 9 isn’t enough.
When you switch themes, your sidebar changes travel with you, so you only have to set it up once.
